In Fictionhearted, artists Brian Barr and myself created new fictions and narratives by manipulating found imagery and 3D models from video games, while simultaneously mixing them with sculpture and large format photography. As the images and symbols strayed further and further from their original contexts the viewer is then faced with task of trying to interpret, fill in blanks, and to have an aesthetic relationship with the works. The space between trying to access context, and the aesthetics of objects is where the new fictions emerge. The large scale wall pieces and framed prints were by Brain Barr, while the glass prints and floor installation were by me.

Fictionhearted premiered at Skylab Gallery in Columbus, OH from July 13th through the 27th, 2018.
